Delta offers paperless boarding passes
There's a Delta flight leaving Atlanta for New York and Anna Scott has her boarding pass.
SCOTT: "I went to the self check in and just scanned my credit card."
Passengers can also now scan handheld internet devices like an Iphone. On them, you can access your boarding pass by going to Delta's website. There, you'll see an electronic bar code that can be scanned at security checkpoints. Josh Weiss manages Delta.com.
WEISS: "Customers who are on the go and the consistently tell us that moving quickly through the experience without hassle is the most important thing to them."
Frequent business traveler Ron Hunter agrees.
HUNTER: "I generally have my PDA with me at all times. Sometimes it's crowded lines and things like that when you're held up. That will all be nonexistent. Now, you go straight to the gates."
Anna Scott, the woman flying to New York, would use it if she had the web on her phone.
SCOTT: "I just bought a new phone and I didn't think I needed it. I didn't want to pay extra for Internet."
Scott will still be able to print her boarding pass for now. Paperless save Delta money and could be standard in the future. © Copyright 2012, WABE
