Jan. 10, 1966: Georgia House of Representatives Denies Seat to Julian Bond
ATLANTA, GA

If we were to turn Atlanta's clock back 43 years, to January 10, 1966, we'd find the Georgia House of Representatives had just denied a seat to the recently-elected Julian Bond. As a student at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Bond served as the Communications Director for SNCC-the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee-an organization formed to protest segregation in the South. Georgia State University historian Cliff Kuhn explains to WABE's Steve Goss Bond's debut into Georgia politics:
