Poll: McCain leads Obama in GA by 8%
(2008-09-19)
(WABE) - Republican John McCain has an eight point lead over Democrat Barack Obama in Georgia.

The latest poll numbers show McCain's lead has shrunk in the state.

Yesterday's Insider Advantage poll shows a 10 percent jump for Obama. After analyzing the results, University of Georgia political science professor Charles Bullock says Obama may be attracting more white male independent voters.

They, according to Bullock, may have lost interest in Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Also, the nation's economy hit historic lows this week. And Bullock says white male independents may remember McCain saying he's not well versed on economic issues.

BULLOCK: If they have some concerns about John McCain's ability to bring about change in the economy you could see why that would cause them to rethink an earlier infatuation with McCain and Palin.

However, the Insider Advantage survey is just one of 4 recent polls in Georgia showing McCain decisively ahead of Obama.
