The 35th annual Young Artist Competition, sponsored by the Black Hills Symphony Orchestra and the Black Hills Symphony League will feature 20 young musicians competing for cash and a chance to play with the symphony at its April 4, 2014 concert. The event will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 629 Kansas City Street. Admission is free and donations are appreciated. Audience members are invited to come for any of the 20 performances. This is an opportunity to hear some of the world’s finest compositions played by well-prepared, talented young musicians. This year features a variety of instruments: violin, viola, cello, piano, and oboe. Street parking is free during the event.
