"Let's Talk About It...Picturing America: Land of Opportunity." This 6 series session continues on Monday, October 28th at 7:00 p.m. with a discussion of "Noon Wine," a short story by Katherine Anne Porter and featured in the book, "Pale Horse, Pale Rider." It is a dark tragedy about a farmer's futile act of homicide that leads to his own suicide. The story is set on a small dairy farm in southern Texas during the 1890's. The discussion will take place in the Hayden H. Jones Auditorium of the New Bern-Craven County Public Library and will be led by Lynn Salsi, author, teacher, playwright and historian. Advanced registration is required and the book is available at the library. This program is made possible by funding from the North Carolina Humanities Council in partnership with the North Carolina Center for the Book. For more information, call the library at 638-7800.
