PRI's The World - Geo Quiz Podcast 336
Swastika Eyes Shut

For today's Geo Quiz we're looking for a place nicknamed the city of spires. Those spires belong to a many landmarks. One is the oldest gothic cathedral in central Europe. Another is a 9th century castle -- home to the country's crown jewels. This central European capital was once behind the Iron Curtain. Since the fall of communism, however, it's become one of Europe's most popular tourist destinations. Not as popular as London, Paris, Rome, Madrid or Berlin. But it still gets lots of visitors -- in the summertime especially. Recently, a radio station in this city has been in the news. Authorities accused the station of promoting fascism... by playing a song that mentions swastikas. We'll tell you more ... first you've got to brush up on your central European capitals.

The World's Geo Quiz tests your knowledge of world geography, and introduces you to fascinating people and places around the globe. The World is a US-based international news and analysis program co-produced by the BBC World Service, Public Radio International, and WGBH Boston.
