Prominent New Hampshire authors will read from the first-ever anthology of poems by contemporary widows. The Widows’ Handbook: Poetic Reflections on Grief and Survival celebrates the strategies that widows must learn to deal with the shock of bereavement, the changes in their lives, and the realization that nothing will ever be the same. As Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg says in her Foreword to the book, losing one’s partner is “a loss like no other.”
Poets reading will include Jacqueline Lapidus, Pat Parnell, Barb Bald, Charlotte Cox, Pat Savage, Joann Duncanson, Tammi Truax, and S Stephanie.
An open mic for poems dealing with loss will follow the formal reading portion of the event.
