White Mountains Community College will host the Third Annual White Mountains Writers’ and Book Festival Day.
The day-long series of events will include writing workshops, book sales, arts and crafts vendors, and antique book appraisers. Noted New England writer Howard Frank Mosher will be the day’s keynote speaker.
The North Country portion of the state-wide “Literary Flash: Three Minutes to Fame” competition will end the festival.
Writing workshops, for which there will be a charge of $15.00 each, will include sessions on social media, comedy, ancestry, local history, poetry, and self-publishing, among others. While there is a fee for the writing workshops, the rest of the day’s events are free of charge. Food will be for sale in the college’s cafeteria.
Among the workshop presenters are several of the local area’s own writers: Paul “Poof” Tardiff, Susan Solar, Judi Calhoun, and Jackie Nadeau and Odette Leclerc of the Berlin Coos Historical Society.
All who are interested in the written word in any way are invited and encouraged to attend.
