New book recounts Native-White relations in northwest Nebraska
(2008-10-13)
(NET Radio) - The border area between northwest Nebraska's Sheridan County and the Pine Ridge Reservation, in South Dakota, has seen conflict and coexistence between whites and Indians for more than a century. Now, Nebraska native Stew Magnuson examines that history in a new book, The Death of Raymond Yellow Thunder. Fred Knapp interviewed Magnuson and compiled this report:

Magnuson will discuss his book at the Nebraska History Museum, Lincoln, Oct. 18 at 4:30 p.m. He will also make Nebraska appearances in North Platte at A to Z Books, Oct. 22; Alliance at the Knight Museum Oct. 23; Gordon at United Methodist Church, Oct. 27, and The Bookworm, 8702 Pacific St., Oct. 30 at 6 p.m.
