Obama takes Nebraska
(2008-02-09)
(NET Radio) - Meeting halls, churches, and school gymnasiums across the state were packed to overflowing as Barack Obama won Nebraska's first ever Democratic Caucus with 68 percent of the vote. Obama took 16 of the state's 24 available delegates. Seven more delegates can declare their support between now and the Democratic National Convention in August. Four have already come out for Obama. The Illinois Senator's largest margin of victory came in Omaha, where he got 77 percent of the vote. In western Nebraska it was much closer with 52 percent for Obama and 48 percent for Hillary Clinton. The York County Courthouse was one of many caucus sites filled to overflowing. © Copyright 2021, NET Radio
