Donations still being accepted for Von Maur victims' fund
(NET Radio) - The United Way of the Midlands says it has collected $1,025,000 in donations. That includes $500,000 from the Von Maur company.

The fund was set up after 19-year-old Robert Hawkins opened fire inside the Von Maur department store at the Omaha's Westroads Mall on December 5, killing eight people and himself. Twelve families of people who were killed or injured have already received $20,000 from the fund.

The United Way will continue accepting donations through February 1.
