Local Christmas trees available at more than 100 Nebraska farms
(2007-12-10)
(NET Radio) - Casey Foster of the Nebraska Department of Agriculture says the state's Christmas tree industry is fairly stable from year to year.

But Foster says officials would like to see more people buy locally.

"When you visit a Nebraska Christmas tree farm and purchase a real Christmas tree, you'll not only have a special tree for the holidays, but you'll be supporting the state's local economy," he says.

Foster says many farms also offer gift shops and other activities like hayrides. More than 100 Christmas tree farms are spread throughout Nebraska. A directory listing farms across the state is available through the Department of Agriculture. Click here to read more.
