Combating poverty and crime in north Omaha

(NET Radio) - The cycle of poverty is difficult to overcome. It contains so many other problems a community faces - crime, lagging graduation rates, troubled youth, isolation, friction and despair. In Omaha, the African American community has been plagued by a summer of rising violence coupled with reports of alarming poverty numbers. This has brought new light to an old problem. But some wonder whether there's the will to really tackle the issue, and create a bright future for a struggling neighborhood. © Copyright 2017, NET Radio
