PETA calls for Zoo Nebraska's closure LINCOLN, NE (NET Radio) - The national group PETA, or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has sent a letter to the director of Zoo Nebraska, in the northeast town of Royal. From 2000 to 2006 the zoo racked up more than 130 U-S Department of Agriculture citations for violating the federal Animal Welfare Act. PETA's Lisa Wathne says that's simply too much.
