Omaha schools bill debated
(NET Radio) - In its latest proposed form, the bill would rework the way only Omaha-area schools are financed and run. It would set up a new board, dubbed a "Learning Community Council," independent of the boards that currently run school districts in Omaha and 10 other districts in Douglas and Sarpy Counties. Subcouncils of that board, -- paid, elected representatives -- would decide how to spend money to help students from low-income and non-English speaking homes. © Copyright 2017, NET Radio
