Lawmakers begin debate on OPS bill
(NET Radio) - Economic inequality, lack of cooperation between school boards and lagging progress by some poor and minority children are among issues the compromise package attempts to address. Legislators spent much of the first day of debate discussing what has been a key sticking point - how to create an overarching governance structure that would force districts to work together. In its current form, the bill would set up an 18-member elected board drawn from across Sarpy and Douglas Counties. © Copyright 2017, NET Radio
