Nelson: Brain injured soldiers need private care

(NET Radio) - Senator Nelson says many returning Iraq War veterans need to be treated for brain injuries, and private facilities may be the best place for them. He visited Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln and met with Nebraska Army National Guard Sergeant Mack Richards. The 51-year-old was injured almost a year ago in Balad, about an hour north of Baghdad, A rocket exploded about 20 feet away from him, and Richards says the injuries he sustained were not only physical but also mental. © Copyright 2021, NET Radio
