Proposed tax breaks for feedlots under fire
(NET Radio) - The Third District Republican introduced the bill late last month. It would help the owners of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations, or CAFOs, meet new regulations put in place by the Environmental Protection Agency. Those rules require CAFO owners to control waste runoff and obtain discharge permits by the end of July. Smith says meeting the new requirements could cost producers hundreds of thousands of dollars each. © Copyright 2018, NET Radio
