Health learning centers seek funding
(2007-03-07)
(NET Radio) - Nebraska has five Area Health Education Centers, in Grand Island, Omaha, Norfolk, Scottsbluff, and Beatrice. The non-profit centers work to bring health care professionals to rural and underserved communities. Roxanna Jokela administers the federal grant for the Nebraska program. She says recruiting and training needs to begin at the grade school level. Then, Jokela says, it should continue with providing residency grants and videoconferencing for rural physicians to continue their education. © Copyright 2017, NET Radio
