Kansas: Water cuts are not enough
(NET Radio) - Nebraska has repeatedly used more than its share of water allotted under the Republican River Compact. That's left many downstream farmers in Kansas with little or no water in recent years. David Pope, the chief engineer of the Kansas Division of Water Resources, spelled out his concerns issue in a letter to Ann Bleed, his Nebraska counterpart and the director of the state Department of Natural Resources. In the letter, dated January 24th, Pope said Nebraska must do more to cut water use.
