Ashfall Fossil Beds near Royal contain the preserved remains of hundreds of rhinoceroses, camels, birds, turtles and other animals. The 12-million-year-old fossils have been named a National Natural Landmark, a designation that recognizes important sites to the country's national history. A dedication ceremony begins at 1:15 p.m. Saturday.
