USDA Wants Conservation Ideas
(2005-03-18)
(NET Radio) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture says it's looking for a few good ideas. Nebraska is one of 12 states where conservation innovation grants of up to 75 thousand dollars are being offered to pursue ideas that LeRoy Stokes of the Natural Resources Conservation Service says may not yet be proven but people are convinced will work. The grants are intended to show how innovative technologies or approaches can address problems in water, air, and soil, as well as invasive species like Salt Cedar that is affecting grazing in parts of Nebraska. The grants are available to farmers, ranchers, organizations, tribes, state or local government. More information is available at www.ne.nrcs.usda.gov/programs/CIG.html © Copyright 2012, NET Radio
