Next execution possible as Nebraska obtains lethal injection drugs
(2011-01-21)
(NET Radio) - The statement issued late Friday afternoon from Department of Corrections came after NET News inquired about the shortage of drugs commonly used for execution by lethal injection.
The director the state's prison system, Bob Houston (HOUSE-ton) confirmed that a shipment of sodium thiopental has been received by the state. That was the last of the three drugs needed for the state to proceed with an execution of the next death row inmate, as laid out in its approved procedures.
