Ranzenhofer Decries Senate Priorites at Special Session
"When you don't have the money that you have budgeted, you stop spending," Ranzenhofer said. "The Senate has taken absolutely no action in regards to that."
Instead of cutting the budget, Ranzenhofer says he's heard Senate leaders have not ruled out another tax increase.
One of the bills on the today's agenda establishes a Green Jobs/Green New York program. The Amherst Republican says it will cost taxpayers $112 million and not produce results.
"The state government is controlled by three New York City Democrats. They don't care about property taxes," Ranzenhofer said. "They really don't care about reducing spending."
Ranzenhofer says enacting across-the-board spending cuts is the only way to solve the state's fiscal crisis.
