Physicians register to give swine flu shots
(2009-08-13)
(KOSU) - State health officials say dozens of physicians registered to administer swine flu vaccinations when they become available this fall.
The state Health Department says the physicians registered within hours of a request that they help give the shots. The department is hoping hundreds will eventually sign up to provide vaccinations against H1N1 virus.
County health departments also will administer vaccinations, and schools and community centers may become shot sites.
The vaccine requires two injections, at least 28 days apart.
Up to 1 million doses are expected to arrive in Oklahoma in October or November.
