Michigan's List of 'Probable' Swine Flu Cases Expands
(2009-05-03)
(Associated Press) -

Four probable swine flu cases have led to the closing of 24 schools in the 19,000-student Plymouth-Canton Community School District, as well as the 1,375-student Utica High School.

Michigan is reporting 17 new probable swine flu cases Sunday, bringing the total to 37. The federal government has confirmed two Michigan cases.

The Plymouth-Canton district west of Detroit says it acted after a 16-year-old high school girl aparently came down with swine flu.

The district says it will disinfect the buildings during the two-day closing.

Utica High School in the Utica Community Schools district north of Detroit is closing until May 13. Macomb County spokesman Phil Frame says three students have probable cases of swine flu.
