Governor Signs Castle Doctrine
(2008-03-13)
(wpr) - One of the most talked about bills of the past legislative session has been signed into law. Governor Dave Freudenthal signed the so called Castle Doctrine bill, which provides immunity to homeowners if someone breaks into their home and they kill the intruder. Freudenthal thought a version of the bill approved in the house of representatives went a little too far. That allowed people to ability to hold their ground and use deadly force outside their home. The Governor says he supports the more traditional ability of homeowners to protect their home and family.
