Niobrara water use could see limits
(2007-04-30)
(NET Radio) - The Niobrara River in northern Nebraska is a popular spot for tubing, canoeing and kayaking... and it's home to a variety of plants and animals. But like other rivers in Nebraska, its water is also coveted by farmers wanting to irrigate their crops. Concerned by an increase in requests for surface water rights, the U-S Fish and Wildlife Service is asking the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources to hold off on granting any new requests - and to hold public hearings before doing so. © Copyright 2012, NET Radio
