Safe haven bill debated
(2007-03-12)
(NET Radio) - The bill by State Senator Arnie Stuthman of Platte Center would allow parents to legally turn over their newborns to hospital staff or firefighters. The babies would be given to law enforcement officials and then to the state Department of Health and Human Services to be placed for adoption. Stuthman says the bill is aimed at helping parents in desperate situations who might otherwise abandon their babies in unsafe places. © Copyright 2013, NET Radio
