PRI's The World - Geo Quiz Podcast 681 WALKING TO MECCA Each year millions of Muslims make the annual pilgrimage to the Saudi city of Mecca. The Hajj, as its known, is still a ways off. This year it's at the end of October. But 47-year-old Senad Hadzic has already set off in that direction. That's because he's on foot. He started from his hometown in northern Bosnia back in December. And he's walking all the way to Mecca. So figure it's some 3,600 miles from Bosnia to Mecca and he covers between 12 and 20 miles a day. So where is Senad Hadzic? He's reached the waterway that separates Europe from Asia. We'll check in on his long pilgrimage when you name that waterway.
