Omaha was one of the first cities in the nation to have a black firefighter crew on the city payroll. In the late 1800s, Omaha was home to one of the earliest African American firefighter crews in the country. Photographs of Omaha's early black firefighters are currently on display at Hot Shops Art Center in Omaha. Robyn Wisch of KVNO Omaha has the story.
