A hawk caught in a trap and a son in a tight spot helped Welch get an image out of his head and into a poem. Finding the right words isn't always the easiest thing to do, even for writers. For one veteran Nebraska poet, it took a near fist-fight before the right words would come. Jerry Johnston has more.
