Omaha library stays open with private funds
Budget cuts were going to close Florence Branch library from September through December. Questions still remain about future funding. On this Labor Day weekend, a group of Omaha city employees is happy to still have work. As Robyn Wisch reports, librarians are still on the job at the Florence branch in north Omaha.

NOTE: This story continues to develop. The anonymous donor is looking for assurances that Omaha's library programs will be funded next year. Mayor Jim Suttle says uncertainty in city revenue makes it impossible to make that guarantee. In any event, the Library Board says the community donations that came in as matching funds are enough to keep Florence branch open – for now.
