The author and folklorist, best known as the author of Their Eyes Were Watching God is among the historical characters appearing in this year's Great Depression themed Chautauqua. This summer's Chautauqua, sponsored by the Nebraska Humanities Council, made stops in Broken Bow and Plattsmouth. Franklin Roosevelt, Huey Long, Will Rogers, and Amy Semple McPherson were the other historical characters in the program. Jerry Johnston reports.
