(2008-08-29)
(NDPR) - North Dakota continues to have a low unemployment rate.

The state's July jobless rate was 3.2 percent. That compares with a June rate of 3.6 percent.

"June is traditionally a high unemployment rate month," said Micheal Zeisch with Job Service-North Dakota. "There's an influx of students -- both college students and high school students -- into the workforce."

Zeisch says there are a "help wanted" signs all over North Dakota.

"Posted with our agency are over 15,000 jobs as of the beginning of August," said Zeisch. He says in western North Dakota, oil companies are still looking for workers.

The national unemployment rate for July is 5.7 percent.
