United Tribes to offer crominal justice training
(2008-08-11)
(NDPR) - The president of Bismarck's United Tribes Technical College says the college will be adding classes in criminal justice and law enforcement.

David Gipp says UTTC has just signed a "memorandum of understanding" with the Bureau of Indian Affairs to provide training for tribal law enforcement.

"We will have an actual person from the Bureau of Indian Affairs law enforcement division working with us, and who will be stationed on our campus, working with our curriculum, doing some teaching and working with tribal communities in the state and in the region," said Gipp. "Law enforcement issues are a major concern and a major problem in our tribal communities on the different reservations."

Gipp says that BIA person should be on-campus by the end of August.
