Wind energy continues to grow in ND
One would be a 1000-megawatt wind farm in Oliver and Morton counties. It would cost $2 billion, and would be in-service in 2012.
"If it isn't going to be the biggest wind farm when it's put in service, it will most certainly be one of the biggest wind farms in the nation," said Public Service Commissioner Tony Clark. "Put it on a world-wide scale, it will be one of the largest wind farms on the face of the earth."
FPL has filed a letter of intent for that wind farm.
Meanwhile, the company wants to build a 150-megawatt wind project in Dickey County -- a project to be finished by December 2009. That one would cost $300-million.
