WSI Survey: Clients, employers satisfied
The study was done for Workforce Safety and Insurance by DH Research. The research company asked injured workers and employers to rate WSI on a scale of one to five -- one being low -- and in both cases, the rating was above a "four."
"Most of the claims go through really easily," WSI interim CEO Bruce Furness said. "93 percent of the claims go through that way. It's the other 7 percent that cause the problems we're dealing with."
Furness said WSI has had good ratings for years, contrary to popular belief.
"We're trying to make it even better," said Furness. "We're trying to change attitudes, we're trying to change the culture, we're trying to change some of the benefits. We want to make WSI even more responsive than it's been in the past."
Furness says he doesn't see the need for wholesale changes in WSI. But he says the agency will be proposing some "tweaks" to the next Legislative session.
