NDDES wants you to "Resolve to be Ready"
That's the name of a new campaign to urge people to have plans in place in case of an emergency.
"People need to make an assessment of their personal situation -- their family or their business -- and come up with what they consider to be a good plan for them to be prepared for any emergency," said NDDES spokesperson Cecily Fong. "The kind of emergencies that are on our radar right now would be severe winter weather, so people should have a plan on what to do if they're travelling across the state, whether it be an emergency kit for your car, or other steps like that you can take to keep safe."
Fong says a recent national study shows only about half of Americans have these kinds of emergency plans.
