Higher ed board delays response to Med School audit
The audit was critical of the school's management. It also said UND family practice centers in Bismarck and Minot are on shaky financial ground. It will be formally presented to the Legislature's Audit and Fiscal Review Committee next week, and the Med School will have an opportunity to respond.
Board President John Q. Paulson says it would be better to hold off on having a formal Board response at this time.
"This audit contains many sharply-worded recommendations and some strong defenses by UND and the Medical School," said Paulson. "Until we have an opportunity to hear both from the Auditors and the University of North Dakota, I would be reluctant for us to act in any way with regard to the audit, other than to send it on to the Legislature."
The full Board will add that item to a December meeting in Dickinson.
