Power line gets one step closer to approval
(Host) The Vermont Electric Power Company is one step closer to building a new transmission line to serve Stowe and Lamoille County.
A hearing officer at the Public Service Board today said that VELCO should get a permit for the project. The full PSB will now consider the hearing officer's recommendation.
The 10-mile transmission project will run between Duxbury and Stowe. The 115-kilovolt line will follow an existing right-of-way. It's expected to cost about $20 million.
