Sioux nickname and logo headed for retirement DICKINSON, ND (Prairie Public) - The North Dakota Board of Higher Education has voted to get rid of the University of North Dakota's Fighting Sioux nickname and logo.
The process will begin by October first -- and should be completed by August First, 2010.
