Law enforcement is reminding the public of their efforts to enforce laws against drunk driving. The statewide over the limit, under arrest campaign, which involves police law enforcement agencies in 55 counties, is an effort to crack down on drunk driving. With the new policy in effect, there will be additional patrols out during labor day weekend. Joining officers in the fight against drunk driving are prosecutors, judges, and treatment providers. The DUI courts are providing sustained programs including therapeutic interventions, and treatment to reduce relapses, re-arrests, and incarceration. The programs last about 12 to 18-months.
