Michigan's Unemployment Holds Steady at 8.5%
Michigan's unemployment held steady in July at eight point five percent, the highest in the nation.
Manufacturing continues to drag down Michigan's employment numbers.
Bruce Weaver is an economic analyst with the Department of Labor and Economic Growth. He says Michigan is not alone in its rising jobless numbers.
"The trend Michigan is seeing in terms of employment and unemployment in the last four to five months have been very similar to what's happened nationally," says Weaver.
