2nd Carbon County Hantavirus Victim Dies SARATOGA, WY (wpr) - Another case of Hantavirus has killed a Carbon County resident. Epidemiologist Stacey Anderson says it's the second case from Carbon County in the past week.
"We have had two cases in other years in the same county, but to have them close together like this, it's not what we usually see as far as a pattern goes."

Anderson says there appears to be no connection. One case was from the Rawlins area. The other originated in Saratoga. Eight cases have been reported in the state since 2000, with half resulting in death. Anderson says the disease is spread by rodent droppings and urine.
