Electrcity Demand Expected to Rise This Summer
State regulators predict Michiganders will use more electricity this summer.
The state Public Service Commission today issued its annual summer energy demand predictions.
Judy Palnau is the spokeswoman for the state Public Service Commission.
She says the P-S-C expects electricity demand will top last year's record demand. And, of course, higher demand means higher bills.
"People can plan accordingly. And its always smart to do things now to cut your bill," says Palnau.
Palnau says Michigan utilities expect they will have to buy about a third of the electricity they'll need this summer from out of state companies. © Copyright 2012, Michigan Radio
