Wyoming Senators working on CO2 storage bill

Senators offered amendments and debate a variety of what-ifs concerning the bill, but Senate President John Schiffer urged them to tread lightly. Schiffer says it will open up more markets for Wyoming energy. He says they can clarify specific issues in future years.

The State senate is working on a bill that would give landowners rights to the pore space located below their surface land. It is part of a package of bills that will guide how Wyoming with handle Carbon dioxide storage in the future. The issue is part of cleaner energy development, and CO-2 storage is part of the equation.
