Club Book with Eric Schlosser Thursday, September 26, 7 PM St. Anthony Park Lutheran Church, 2323 Como Ave., St. Paul Investigative journalist Eric Schlosser is the author of the bestselling nonfiction works Fast Food Nation, Chew on This, and Reefer Madness. Known for exploring subjects ignored by the mainstream media and giving a voice to people at the margins of society, Schlosser’s work has appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and The Nation. In addition to nonfiction writing, he has worked in theater and film industry two of his plays have been recently produced in London and he served as an executive producer for the films Fast Food Nation and There Will Be Blood. He will discuss his newest work, Command and Control, a myth-shattering exposé of America’s nuclear weapons program. Hosted by: St. Paul Public Library
Club Book, a series that brings best-selling and award-winning authors to library communities throughout the metropolitan region, will host 11 different acclaimed authors in our summer/fall 2013 season.
Club Book, a program of Metropolitan Library Service Agency and coordinated by the Friends of the Hennepin County Library, is funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Originally launched in 2010, Club Book is now slated to run through the end of 2013. The program will announce two seasons annually with events hosted by library systems throughout the 7-county metropolitan area.
Consider the book club rewritten. All events are FREE and open to the public. Seating is first-come, first-served. Doors open 45 minutes in advance of each program and books will be available for sale/signing.
