The Minneapolis Institute of Arts, in collaboration with 89.3 The Current and Vita.mn, is proud to announce a special concert featuring hip-hop artist Dessa of the Doomtree collective. Ticket sales from this performance will seed a new scholarship for under-served teens as part of the museum's continued commitment to youth programs.
This is an unusual opportunity to experience the multi-talented artist, known for her smart lyrics, innovative style, and moving live performances, in an intimate setting.
Currently the MIA offers a diverse array of studio art classes, camps, and labs for youth and teens. A team of experienced art educators and teaching artists provides engaging and enjoyable instruction focused on cultivating 21st-century skills. Offering small class sizes, high quality art materials, and developmentally appropriate curricula, the programs encourage students to draw on the MIA's permanent collection and special exhibitions for their own artistic inspiration. Dessa is dedicated to programs that enhance the lives of under-served teens and youth.
Tickets for the event are $20 and go on sale Wednesday, January 30, at 10 a.m.
