If you have a local newspaper subscription, it probably doesn't deliver what it once did. Instead of arriving before work on your doorstep, perhaps it shows up in your email inbox sometime before noon.
Over the next few days on Morning Edition, we're going to take a look at the newspaper industry.
First we'll take a look at what led to this. Newspapers, once regarded as one of the best ways to understand a story, are changing dramatically. Some even say that they're collapsing.
Anthony Collings is a Communication Studies professor at the University of Michigan. He gives us a brief history of the newspaper industry... leading to its current uncertain situation.
